Aeroquest Optimal has long history of providing reliable photogrammetric mapping and geospatial information with an optimal level of accuracy. We have grown to become one of the largest commercial photogrammetric operations in existence.
We have 17 digital stereo compilation (softcopy) instruments manned with qualified and experienced technicians for 3D data collection. Our scope of services and unsurpassed production capabilities allow us to continue to provide accurate, high-quality photogrammetric mapping and image products to our diverse customer base.
Aerial Triangulation
Softcopy analytical aero triangulation is accomplished using Intergraph softcopy automated triangulation (ISAT). Utilizing digital imagery or high resolution scanned images, this system minimizes manual measurements by matching pixel points from multiple images. Interior orientation, control and pass point selection, and refined plate coordinate generation is accomplished in an automatic or semi-automatic process. Pass points are selected by ISAT using auto-correlation within the image overlap areas. Increased numbers of pass points strengthen the model setup and reduce parallax.
Our skilled technicians use advanced processing software that enables them to avoid gross errors, assuring that all measurements fall within required tolerances. Full strip and bundle adjustment calculations are performed for an entire project simultaneously.
Digital Orthophotography
Digital orthophotos are one of the standard foundations for many geographic information systems (GIS). The process of differential ortho-rectification is used to remove distortion from the camera/sensor position, lens distortion, and deformation caused by variations in terrain from airborne and satellite imagery. Digital imagery is obtained from a digital camera or scanning the original aerial photographic negative. A digital orthophoto contains all the information of a photograph, but also has the spatial accuracy of a map. Accuracy is based on original photo scale and final pixel resolution. The final product can be visually enhanced for optimum brightness, contrast and sharpness.
Aeroquest Optimal consistently produces and delivers accurate, high resolution digital orthophotos from aerial photography and satellite imagery. Geo-referenced digital orthophotos are used extensively by a variety of customers including state and local government agencies for land-use planning, environmental management, tax assessment, emergency services management, and many other applications.
Benefits of this fully digital process include high quality products, flexibility for our customers in the options they have of using these digital products to produce their own output on different media and at different scales, and more efficient and cost-effective updates to mapping areas.
Many users incorporate GIS layers with these digital photos to show topographic and planimetric features, maximizing the geographic information that can be simultaneously visualized.
Digital Terrain Models
Elevation data used as input for the generation of contours or the ortho-rectification process is the result of photogrammetric data capture, LiDAR data acquisition or a fully automatic correlation process.
After careful terrain analysis, Aeroquest Optimal determines the most efficient method of data collection. Break lines, (representing all significant changes in terrain), and mass points are reviewed and edited by experienced technicians in 3D on a softcopy photogrammetric workstation. The resulting digital terrain model can be used for the generation of digital orthophotos, contours or other topographic data products.
